Physical Attributes:

Myrtle blossoms are bright magenta and sometimes confused for a brighter version of lilac. Myrtle trees come in a wide variety of species, though all are known as “paper trees” because their bark peels off in sheets. This is an inherent defense mechanism.

History & Lore:

While Melaleuca comes from Australia and Myrtle trees grow mainly in the North American Pacific Coast, they are technically the same family. Biologically-speaking, Myrtle bark contains antiseptic properties. Energy-wise Myrtle is cleansing and said to promote clearer thought processes. It allows the user to see the big picture without getting lost in the details. As with Lilac, Myrtle can also be used for love spells.
